How to Research Sealed Pack Sold Prices

A repeatable sold-comps workflow for sealed packs, graded packs and unopened boxes.

Asking prices tell you what sellers want. Sold listings tell you what buyers recently accepted. Sealed packs need both, but sold comps should anchor the conversation.

Start with format: wax, cello, rack, blister, foil, box or slab.
Add era, sport, game type or set only after format.
Run both current and sold searches.
Save examples with strong photos, not just high prices.

Adjust for condition

Two packs with the same search terms can differ drastically. Wrapper tears, crushed corners, yellowed cello, damaged slabs, missing provenance and bad photos all affect buyer confidence.

Watch the outliers

Ignore unpaid-looking anomalies and one-off spikes until repeated.
Look at several sold dates, not one result.
Separate sealed box comps from loose pack comps.
Separate graded results from raw results.

Search routes for this topic

Use current listings for supply, then sold results for demand. Treat every listing as unverified until the photos and seller history support it.
