Condition scale

Pack Condition Scale for Unopened Packs

A practical pack-condition vocabulary for raw, graded and boxed sealed packs.

A simple condition scale helps you compare packs before deciding whether the price, grade or seller story makes sense.

Premium display quality

Strong wrapper eye appeal.
Clean crimps and edges.
No major tears, stains or crush damage.
Good slab or holder presentation if graded.

Collector acceptable

Minor age wear, soft corners or light surface marks may be acceptable when the format and scarcity justify it. The key is full disclosure and price alignment.

Problem condition

Torn wrapper.
Questionable reseal signs.
Crushed pack shape.
Cloudy or split cello.
Damaged slab or box wrap.
Missing photos of critical areas.

Use the scale with comps

Compare condition against sold examples, not against your hope. A rare pack in problem condition may still sell, but the buyer pool is different.
